It is the most difficult stage of the entire bike-holiday due to the altimetric difficulties that add up to reach a respectable overall difference in height.
You immediately face the 40 kilometers of one of the most beautiful coastal roads in the world!
No houses and no crossroads: only uncontaminated nature lived in a continuous up and down having the blue of the sea on the right, the mountain colored by metalliferous rocks on the left, and not even a meter of plain: “conquering” Bosa is a beautiful thing, but challenging!
But when you get to the houses on the river, your face will certainly be satisfied because everyone will have cycled in scenarios that the rest of the world can only envy!
Before leaving Bosa, it is a must to take a look at the Malaspina Castle and the Temo River, the only navigable river in Sardinia, overlooked by its characteristic colored houses.
… but it’s not over yet and just after leaving Bosa Marina you have to go up until you touch the town of Magomadas (the town can boast a splendid panoramic view of a blue sea!), then continue “at high altitude” until you reach Cuglieri and then, finally, you will find fifteen kilometers all downhill or almost!
Just after Santa Caterina di Pittinurri you reach S’Archittu where, if you wish, you can go for a swim by diving from its famous rocky arch.
Then you pass near the Sinis with its beaches (Putzu Idu, Is Arutas) and the archaeological remains of Tharros, located in a panoramic area at the end of Capo San Marco (…a pity you don’t have time to visit the whole peninsula!) and finally you reach Oristano.
